World Environment Day, observed globally on June 5th each year, serves as a significant occasion to emphasize the imperative of safeguarding our planet. This day functions as a poignant reminder for individuals, organizations, and governments alike to take concrete steps towards conserving our environment. Numerous entities operating in the oil and gas sector, including PEPA (Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority), recognize the importance of this day and undertake special initiatives to contribute to environmental preservation.
In celebration of World Environment Day 2023, our company is embracing a distinctive and meaningful approach. We’ve orchestrated a series of activities at all our field locations, aimed at fostering environmental consciousness and motivating our staff to actively engage in environmental protection. As part of our reforestation promotion campaign, our employees will personally plant approximately three hundred trees in various locations. Furthermore, we’re launching a cleanliness campaign at select sites in the field and will recognize the cleanest location within the company. As an additional initiative, we are involving the children of our employees in creating artwork that encapsulates the essence of World Environment Day. These artworks will be showcased in our mess hall and shared across our company’s social media platforms, with the finest pieces being featured on our official website. To acknowledge these endeavors, we will present awards to the creators of the most exceptional artworks.
In line with our unwavering dedication to environmental preservation, we will be disseminating informative posters, videos, and bulletins to reinforce the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment. Our Recreation and Athletics Committee has also orchestrated a range of sports activities for all employees in the field, including those from other companies such as Yemen Gas Company, Refinery, and subcontractors. These activities encompass swimming competitions, freestyle and diving events, and volleyball matches, among others.
These collective endeavors underscore the paramount importance our company accords to environmental conservation, not solely on World Environment Day but throughout the entire year. We firmly believe that it is our duty to play a proactive role in safeguarding our planet for the benefit of future generations.
